Kimbriki Western

Helping you increase productivity

Sheep Breeding

At Kimbriki Western, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, well bred Merino sheep. Our sheep are large, free moving and plain bodied with a genetic history that can be traced back to the

Spanish blood Merinos introduced to Australia in 1797 by Captain Henry Waterhouse.

RP & EL Reid sheep at Kimbriki Western are direct descendants of these early sheep.  Our business began in 1955 with stock bred from Egelabra Merino Stud ewes. Australia's oldest closed stud has also remained our sole source of sires since then, maintaining the unique genetic characteristics of the Egelabra bloodline.

Wool Production

Here at Kimbriki Western, our wool clip consistently achieves an 8.5 kg average fleece weight. A consistent wool type of 19 micron or less is bright white and soft handling. It is free from colour, has a good tip structure and is high yielding.

Generations of Reids have worked to increase fleece weight while decreasing micron.

Our dependable approach to wool production ensures that we produce wool of exceptional quality that is sought after by discerning clients on the auction floor.

Farming Practices

Our cropping helps us provide you with high quality lambs and ewes. Primarily to conserve fodder, we can confidently maintain our undiluted genetics using silage practices refined over the last six decades. We also crop cereals.
